It always amazes me how many of the people in the world are “watchers” and how so few are “doers”.
I suppose that most law enforcement officers can be included in the category of the “doer”. Reason being is that they have to do and perform a multitude of tasks when encountering various situations during their daily routine.
Speaking of routine, one of the things that is taught quite vehemently, by the PD academy staff, is that a police officer or deputy sheriff should never treat anything as “routine”.
The “routine” is the type of “view” that causes one to think, “This is the same old domestic violence call…” ”The Same old Traffic Stop for expired registration…” ”The same only audible burglary alarm…”
Two of the most destructive inside of the criminal element, Timothy McVeigh and Richard Ramirez, were caught for simple traffic violations. What if those officers, deputies or troopers would have viewed those as “routine traffic stops”?
The outcomes may have been different. Sad but true.
When it comes to helping others, the best view to have is that you will receive nothing in return. In fact, do these things without expectation or prize.
In life, you never will know how your “Good Karma” will come back to you. But, I can guarantee one thing, it will in a big way.

When local competition comments on your blog articles – what should you do?
Most real estate agents are about 3 years behind the curve. In fact less than 6% embrace the new technologies – the blogging, the online social media, the content. They are not wanting to bend their minds around it – they’d rather farm it out. Which is not so good when you are attempting to add value, or you should be anyway…
It’s kind of like the agents that have an entire team of buyers agents that are showing their clients homes. There is something about “losing touch” when it comes to having others do your job. Especially when it comes to showing homes. No matter how much an agent de-brief’s with their buyer agent, something is lost. What is lost is called “The Referral relationship”.
Sometimes, we get comments on our blogs. Sometimes these comments are from other local real estate agents. Most of the time these comments are approved and replied to. But, that depends on the “intent” of the comment.
In the Blogging world – it is no secret that a “comment” left gives you a link to your website. The more links you have the more Google and The other
search engines see’s your website as one of authority.
Needless to say, the more “approved” comments that are left on “high ranking” blogs, the better your own site will do in the search engine rankings. There are a few other points that I will bring to the surface regarding blog commenting. It has to be the same “subject matter” – or similar. The site you are commenting on needs to be “valued” by the other search engines. The site also needs to be “active” and not something that was built once upon a time and abandoned.
What do you do when a local competitor starts leaving you comments on your blog “hand over fist”? As I touched on before, it depends if the comments are there for the adding of value, or intentionally wanting to score a “high value” link back to their website.
As was the case yesterday. My Santa Clarita Moves site was blowing up with a specific local agent leaving comments. Here are a few of the more “Vague and Ambigious” ones:
The duplicate comment was not by accident – It was posted again. Part of me thinks that this is being done by using automated software or a company. Does anyone know if that is the case? I am sure a human being would be able to come up with something much more interesting to talk about.
Isn’t that what a blog is about – to get involved in the conversation? The discussion? To give your two cents about a topic that has you Fired up with Passion.
